Understanding Average Marks Calculator
Average marks is the arithmetic mean of the values entered. Add each mark as a separate row; the tool adds the values and divides the sum by the number of rows. This approach gives every entry equal influence. It works well when repeated tests use the same scale and you want a simple summary of performance. It does not automatically account for different maximum marks, course credits or assessment weights. For example, averaging twenty marks from a twenty-mark quiz with eighty marks from a hundred-mark exam produces a number that is not a combined percentage. Normalize those scores first or use the marks percentage calculator if a total proportion is required. Zero marks remain part of the average and must not be omitted simply because a score is low. Missing marks are not the same as zero: decide whether the assessment belongs in the set before entering a row.
